Die casting is a metal casting process that utilizes the inner cavity of the mold to apply high pressure to the melted metal. Molds are usually made from alloys with higher strength, and this process is somewhat similar to injection molding.

Principles of Die Casting Processing

During casting production, metal is heated and melted to make it flowable, and then poured into a casting cavity with a certain shape. Under the action of gravity or external force, the cavity is filled, cooled, and solidified into a casting. This is a metal method.

Advantages of die-casting processing technology

1. Can manufacture metal parts with complex shapes, clear contours, and thin-walled deep cavities; The dimensional accuracy of die castings is high, with a surface roughness of one and good interchangeability;

2. High material utilization rate; Due to the high accuracy of die castings, they can be assembled and used with only a small amount of mechanical processing, and some die castings can be directly assembled and used; High production efficiency, due to high-speed filling, short filling time, rapid solidification in the metal industry, and fast cycle speed of die-casting operations; Easy to use inserts.

The Process Flow of Precision Die Casting Processing

1. Production of molds

It is necessary to customize the mold according to the drawings provided by the customer. Generally, wooden molds can be used for single piece processing, plastic molds or metal molds can be used for mass production, and templates can be used for mass production.

2. Modeling process

This includes modeling (using the mold cavity formed by molding sand), core making (forming the internal shape of the casting), and mold matching (being able to place the clay core inside the mold cavity and close the upper and lower sand boxes). Modeling processing is a relatively important process, which involves the effect of post molding.

3. Melting process

According to the processing requirements, match the required metal and chemical composition, and then select a more suitable melting furnace to melt the alloy material, forming a more qualified liquid metal liquid (with qualified composition and temperature).

4. Pouring process

Place qualified molten metal into the prepared mold sand box. Due to significant safety hazards in the pouring process, special attention should be paid, especially to the safety of operators.

5. Cleaning process

After pouring, after the metal liquid solidifies, the molding sand can be cleaned and the accessories of the gate can be removed, forming the casting to be processed.
